Crypto Industry Pours $26 Million Into Trump’s Political Machine
The cryptocurrency industry has funneled $26 million into former President Donald Trump’s political operations, with the majority of donations directed to MAGA Inc., his primary super PAC. This financial backing coincides with Trump’s push to position the U.S. as the global leader in digital assets.
Major contributors include Blockchain.com, which donated $5 million, and prominent investors Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz, who each gave $3 million. Gemini Trust, led by the Winklevoss twins, contributed nearly $3 million, with the twins adding personal donations of $500,000 apiece. Other significant donors include ONDO Finance ($2.1 million), Paradigm ($1.2 million), and Crypto.com’s parent company, which donated $10 million.
Trump has delivered on his pro-crypto promises, signing the GENIUS Act to regulate stablecoins and urging Congress to pass the CLARITY Act for comprehensive crypto rules. The industry’s heavy investment underscores its bet on Trump’s political influence shaping future regulations.
